IDEAS

Program for Japanese Students

The training program for Japanese students started in 1990 when IDEAS was established. The program aims at nurturing development experts who can comprehend a country's development policy from a macro viewpoint and are able to propose solutions to existing problems, as well as obtain practical knowledge at the micro-level and implement specific projects.

Since its foundation, IDEAS has accepted 220 students including the present thirteen students of the 20th class. The graduates up to the 18th are now playing an active role in various international and domestic organizations, such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, UNICEF, UNDP, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The program, commencing in September each year and ending in July of the following year, is divided into two semesters.
